Today we started by reviewing Fathah, Kasrah, and Dammah through a few simple Arabic phrases—picking up the meaning of some words along the way.
We then focused on the jazm: what it looks like, what it means, and how it guides pronunciation. To practice, we read two-letter words where one letter carried jazm and the other had Fathah, Kasrah, or Dammah.
To wrap up, we quickly reviewed how much of Surah Ikhlas we can now read, with special focus on the third stanza (ayah). The Surah Ikhlas text we read from is available here.

Come join us for the next session! We’ll practice more by reading two-letter and four-letter words with strokes (Fathah, Kasrah, Dammah) and jazm.
Step by step, it’s all coming together.
