This project is part of a wider initiative to safeguard the honor and accurate representation of Islam in the digital age. While separate projects focus specifically on preserving the integrity of the Qur’an and the Hadith, this project addresses the broader landscape of misinformation and misrepresentation of Islam online.
Our mission is to identify, report, and track all forms of distortion or disrespect related to Islam. This includes typographical mistakes, misquotes, incorrect attributions, fabricated statements, mistranslations, and especially content that deliberately or unintentionally alters the perception of Islam. In addition, we log and report any disrespect or misrepresentation of the Prophets and Messengers, the Angels, the revealed Books, and all matters that fall under the sanctity of Islam.
When mistakes involve the Qur’an or the Hadith, they are reported to the dedicated Qur’an or Hadith projects for specialized tracking. However, when Qur’anic or Hadith references are misused to distort Islam’s image, such cases are documented here as part of the broader mission to preserve the dignity and correct understanding of Islam.
Each entry includes the source of the issue, a description of the problem, the platform where it appears, and whether a correction has been requested. Status updates ensure accountability and transparency.
This work is not about shaming individuals or organizations, but about upholding the truth of Islam and safeguarding its representation for learners, researchers, and the global audience online. To ensure continuity, entries may include contact information or references so others can carry this responsibility forward if needed.
Importantly, the information recorded in this project must never be used as a motivation for violence against anyone or anything. Islam is a religion of peace, and we — as people of understanding — defend our faith in a dignified manner, through dialogue, education, and peaceful engagement. Our goal is to protect the integrity of Islam’s message, not to create hostility or division.
In essence, this project is an online defense and preservation effort for Islam’s image, complementing the Qur’an and Hadith projects, and serving as a reference point in the fight against misinformation.
